AB7D - Silent Key
It was announced on the OEN first session that Loyd Stout - AB7D
had become a Silent Key yesterday, 12/27/2014. Other than having been a good
friend to Dennis, our Net Manager, little else is known.
He was not an OEN member. Dennis did make mention that he had been
sick for some time.
W7EUQ - Silent Key
An email received from KV7L advised the OEN that W7EUQ of Superior, Mt.
had become a Silent Key on Dec 3rd while at the Mineral County Hospital.
No other info was made available.Thanks Lynn for the info.
W7WX re-elected
On May 17, 2014 the OEN Board of Directors voted to
retain W7WX Larry as the Chairman of the Board for 2014-2015.
Thanks again Larry for your service to the OEN!

I am pleased to announce the OEN now has an official "club" call sign. That call sign is "W7OEN" !!!
Isn't that a great club call for us? Many thanks go out to W7AE Marv, for walking us through the process and doing
the paperwork and legwork. Also on the thank you list is WA7JS Jim for getting the process started with Marv,
and suggesting we look through calls with OEN in them. We also need to thank Hal WA7FIV for bringing up the idea of
the club call at the OEN business meeting. Hal was wanting us to see if we could use N7RBO as a club call. That proved
to be unavailable as Kern wants to save it for the kids or family use.
W7OEN has never been issued and was available so we applied for a license, got it, then applied for the vanity call. I am
the trustee of W7OEN at this time. We will be using this call for our on the air meetings and any special events that we may
want to do. At this time we will NOT be using it for the OEN Nets, as they will be run under the call sign of the Net Control
as it has always been done.

The OEN Picnic this year was held at the QTH of N7HEH - Carol
in Yachats. This years' event will be held on August 17th, Sunday around noon.
It has been said that this might be the last OEN Picnic at this location.
